Special route for Mountain Biking of just over 35km, starting and returning to the capital of Granada. It is a route of not much difficulty with a stretch of 15 km above 1000m in altitude. The journey can be completed in approximately 2 and a half hours at a speed of 6.28 m/s. You will be able to discover natural landscapes close to the Sierra de Huétor Santillán and other beautiful spots.
The route begins by leaving Granada via the Aynadamar alley, circling Haza Grande and leaving the old Murcia road to the west, climbing to Fargue along the Polvorín path (the old road to Fargue). After merging with the Murcia road and crossing Fargue, our ascent will take us to Puerto Lobo (1130m in altitude).
We will then descend the road to Huétor Santillán, crossing the old bridge over the Río Darro. We will ascend to the turnoff that takes us to Beas de Granada, passing previously by the Alto de la Carada.
We will cross the village and ascend to the Collado del Fraile, from where we will begin the descent to Quéntar, where we will reach Dúdar via the GR-3201 road and then back to Granada.

Mountain Bike route. Short, but intense and very enriching due to the landscapes and the various paths to explore, with a great abundance of sections formed by trails. The route includes cycling through passages of some of the monumental and historical heritage of the valley and Granada. A journey of certain physical intensity and technical demand. Any time of the year is good to undertake this route.
The banks of the Genil River along the protective walls constitute a magnificent, well-known, and widely used alternative in the vicinity of the city, although much less so as the distance increases.
This is one of the least imaginative yet simplest routes to execute, but not lacking in interest due to the extensive poplar groves and the charm of the Genil River, whose flow increases as one descends due to underground contributions or in late spring during the melting moments.
Therefore, we will forego the description; we simply need to take the bank of the Beiro, flow into the Genil, and continue along the left bank first and then whichever we prefer to return along the opposite. Only after passing Fuente Vaqueros should we take the left bank, as there is no continuity in the defensive wall at the mouth of the Cubillas.
This route is very suitable for summer afternoons because it partly runs through the shade of the poplar groves, which can alleviate excessive heat. We can complete it, if we still have the energy, with a short walk through Láchar. For the imaginative, the return can be made by other paths in the Vega, where it still retains its classic structure, with old farmhouses and well-tended vegetable gardens. Other alternatives include visiting Fuente Vaqueros and Valderrubio, both quintessentially Lorquian, although we need to travel some stretches by road.
