What are Cycling Friendly certifications?

The idea of a sustainable city inevitably involves the widespread use of bicycles as a means of urban mobility.

There are organisations working at both national and international levels to promote the use of bikes as a transformative tool for society, such as AMBE (Association of Brands and Bicycles of Spain), EFC (European Cycling Federation), the Network of Cities for Cycling, and IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association).

With the intention of achieving more sustainable cities, Hotel La Garapa actively supports the use of bicycles, improving its facilities by incorporating new spaces exclusively for use by our guests who are increasingly arriving at the hotel and getting around by bicycle.

La Garapa is part of a reference hotel in the offerings of the two most emblematic organisations promoting the idea of cycle tourism and the use of bicycles: Bikefriendly and Cycling Friendly.

In both cases, the members of these platforms, as cycling enthusiasts, have access to numerous services related to bicycle use, including events, trips, hotel recommendations, and other establishments, as well as comprehensive tourist guides, routes, and points of interest.

At La Garapa, we have built an entire area dedicated to cycling tourism which includes, in addition to the general services of the hotel (swimming pool, WiFi, café bar, free vehicle parking, tourist information, etc.), the following new features:

• Bike parking with individual bike racks in a secure area (or the option to bring the bike to your room)
• Tool workshop with air pumps, washing area, and charging station for electric bikes, among others.
• Early breakfast for early risers (upon request)
• Late check-out, meaning you can shower and change after returning from your ride on the same day of your departure.
